Our Story

Nano-Free Pledge began with a simple question: what are we really putting in our stomachs, on our skin, in our homes, and into the environment? What followed was a deep dive into regulatory loopholes, scientific blind spots, and the silent spread of untested nanomaterials. We didn’t find enough answers — so we built a platform that demands them. Now, our mark stands for something clear: truth, safety, and accountability in a nano-filled world.

We recognize that nanotechnology has the potential to bring innovation, efficiency, and real benefits across industries — from medicine to materials science. But in consumer products like food, toothpaste, cosmetics, and baby care, these same particles are often used without proper testing, labeling, or long-term safety data. We're not against nanoparticles. We're against the unregulated and unchecked use of them — especially when products are absorbed through your skin, lungs, or digestive system, and when the studies that should prove their safety are incomplete, outdated, or missing altogether. That’s why we created the Nano-Free Pledge : a certification for brands that choose to eliminate untested or unproven nanomaterials from their formulas, or use only those with transparent, third-party-reviewed safety data. In a market flooded with invisible ingredients and invisible risks, we’re offering something simple: proof, protection, and peace of mind.

At Nano-Free Pledge, we believe transparency is non-negotiable when it comes to your health and the environment. As untested nanomaterials quietly enter the products we use every day — from cosmetics to food packaging — we’re here to ask the hard questions and demand better answers. Some nanoparticles banned or restricted in Europe due to safety concerns are still used freely in U.S. products. With major scientific gaps in toxicity, absorption, and long-term effects, these materials pose unknown risks to families, ecosystems, and future generations. That’s why we created the Nano-Free Pledge mark — a symbol of clarity in a murky market. Our certified products are independently reviewed and verified to be free of high-risk, untested nanomaterials. No greenwashing. No guesswork. Just truth, trust, and real safety. We work with scientists, advocates, and responsible brands to raise awareness, push for regulation, and empower safer choices. Together, we can protect public health and the environment — one label at a time.
